I wasn’t expecting this at all. Plus I found this at a branded supermarket whose name I will not expose here, ‘cause it’s irrelevant anyway.
Initially, I was looking for some food supplies in the supermarket. As an Asian and being a typical one, I looked for noodles. But of course, when it comes to me cooking, it’s all about the instant type ones. Better if it’s in a cup.
Basically, I was just looking for cup noodles.
Then I saw a familiar brand, Maggi, one I usually eat back in Malaysia. So I browsed through the different types of flavor they had to offer. I saw one that I liked, “Beef Noodles”.
As I was reaching for it, I spotted another. Which was almost the same thing, but quite different as well.
It said…”Asian Beef Noodles”.
I was like…
…
…
IS THIS RACISM?
Because really, it totally feels like it! What’s the difference between the normal “Beef Noodles” and the “Asian Beef Noodles”?
There was only one possible answer in my head. Maybe it’s because the normal “Beef Noodles” was made to taste like a normal cow from New Zealand.
And the “Asian Beef Noodles” was to taste like this kinds of cow. I did my research, there are different types of look for a cow. Obviously, my research was a very lazed one. Not to mention, inaccurate…
However, I still feel that it’s quite racist for Maggi to do that. They should take away the normal “Beef Noodles”, ‘cause everybody knows that the “Asian Beef Noodles” taste the best.
Why?
Two words.
ASIAN COW.
AND IF YOU’RE ASIAN,
BAM!
