The Pull

They say that you’d eat a lot during the cold weather. New Zealand has turned me back to what I was in form 1, plus more. I am fat.

Just kidding! All thanks to the FatBooth app for Iphone. But still, can’t stop memories of standard 6 and form 1…

You know how people from other countries come over to New Zealand and open up their own restaurants or stalls? And then you’d have like Thai bazaars, Indian stalls, Japanese shops, and also my very own favorite, Malaysian restaurants.

I’ve been seeing a lot of those lately in Auckland (mainly, the city), and I’m just glad to see Malaysians here, living the same lifestyle as I am.

Wait, a minute, what’s on that menu?

Seriously? You see that?

Confirm not Malaysian already.

You’re asking why? Really?

What on earth do they mean by, “The Tarik”? I know they actually meant “Teh Tarik”, but misspelling “Teh” is like…changing the whole meaning of “Teh Tarik” (‘Tarik’ means pull in Malay).

THE PULL.

This is the only thing that came to my mind when I saw “The Tarik”. It makes it sound so grand and epic. It’s like, the must have drink. It’s, THE DRINK.

I can never stop being amused by the stuff here.

By the bye, I was right. The store owners were from Hong Kong. They just tried getting every Asian drink they can find and put them on the menu. And did you see the price on “The Tarik”? $3.50! However, would you expect anything less from The Drink?

AND IF YOU’RE ASIAN,

asian

BAM!
